Our product portfolio includes fixed and portable gas analyzers, multi-gas monitoring systems, and customized sensor modules, enabling seamless integration into OEM systems and industrial automation frameworks. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in Mumbai for a Design Application Engineer. The Design Application Engineer will be responsible for developing and designing engineering solutions for various projects. Day-to-day tasks include using CAD software, collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in product development, and ensuring adherence to industry standards. The role requires a hands-on approach to designing and developing electrical, mechanical, and control systems. Design & Development Conceptualize and design gas analytical instruments for detection, measurement, and analysis of various gases (e.g., H₂S, NH₃, CO₂, CH₄, O₂, NOx, SO₂). Develop electrical, electronic, and mechanical subsystems, including sensor integration, enclosures, and sampling systems. Select appropriate sensing technologies (electrochemical, NDIR, TDLAS, paramagnetic, etc.) based on application requirements. Application Engineering Conduct application studies to understand customer requirements, gas composition, range, environmental conditions, and regulatory constraints. Adapt standard product designs for custom industrial applications such as oil & gas, petrochemical, environmental monitoring, and process control. Work with process diagrams, P&ID, and sample conditioning design. Standards & Compliance Ensure designs meet relevant Indian standards (BIS, PESO, IS) and applicable DRDO specifications for defense projects. Understand and implement ATEX/IECEx and IP-rated designs for hazardous areas, where applicable. Prototyping & Testing Create prototypes and oversee fabrication, assembly, and integration. Develop and execute functional, calibration, and performance testing plans. Validate designs under various operating and environmental conditions. Documentation & Support Prepare design documents, BOMs, CAD drawings, and technical manuals. Support field commissioning teams with technical solutions. Provide customer training for operation and maintenance. Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with sales, production, and quality teams to ensure design-to-production readiness. Coordinate with vendors for specialized component sourcing and manufacturing processes. Qualifications Education: B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent). Experience: 2–6 years in design/application engineering of gas analyzers, process analyzers, or related instrumentation. Certifications (Preferred): Knowledge of BIS/DRDO standards, ATEX/IECEx, ISO 9001 systems, and calibration procedures. Skill Set Technical Skills: Strong background in instrumentation design (mechanical & electronic) and application engineering. Experience with gas sensing technologies, sample handling, and flow systems. Knowledge of calibration methods, signal conditioning, and data logging. Familiarity with microcontroller or PLC-based controls for gas analyzers. Tools & Software: Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and PCB design tools (Altium, Eagle). Simulation tools for flow, heat, and signal response (COMSOL, ANSYS preferred). Soft Skills: Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability. Good communication for technical documentation and customer interaction. Ability to work under deadlines in multi-disciplinary teams.
