Job Description: We are seeking a talented and creative 2D Game Animator to join our dynamic game development team. As a 2D Game Animator, you will be responsible for creating high-quality animations for characters, objects, environments, and UI elements within our games. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of traditional animation principles, a passion for gaming, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Create 2D character and object animations for various game elements (characters, enemies, NPCs, items, etc.). Work closely with the art and design teams to develop visual assets and integrate them into the game. Develop fluid, lifelike animations for gameplay, cutscenes, and special effects, ensuring they align with the games style and aesthetic. Design and animate UI elements, such as buttons, menus, and transition effects. Implement animations into the game engine, ensuring proper functionality and performance across different platforms. Optimize animation assets for performance, ensuring smooth animations across devices. Ensure consistency and continuity of animations across different levels, scenes, and assets. Collaborate with game designers to ensure animations support gameplay mechanics and storytelling. Iterate and revise animations based on feedback from the team and playtesting. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in 2D animation and game development. Qualifications: Proven experience as a 2D animator, preferably within the gaming industry. Proficiency in 2D animation software (e.g., Toon Boom, Spine, Adobe Animate, or similar). Strong understanding of animation principles (timing, spacing, squash and stretch, etc.). Experience with game engines such as Unity or Godot is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work under deadlines. A portfolio showcasing a range of 2D animation projects, including characters, environments, and special effects. Knowledge of rigging, bone-based animation systems, and pixel art animation is a bonus. A passion for video games and animation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with creating animations for mobile or indie games. Familiarity with creating and implementing animations for various genres (platformers, RPGs, action games, etc.). Experience with sound design or syncing animations to sound/music.
