Job Title: Sales Proposal Engineer Location: Nariman Point, Mumbai Department: Sales & Business Development Reporting To: TL/HOD Role Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Sales Proposal Engineer with prior experience in the chemical process equipment or Sulphuric Acid equipment manufacturing industry . The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing equipment sales proposals , handling end-to-end communication with clients, conducting follow-ups, and converting leads into business opportunities. This role requires PAN India client engagement , technical coordination, and proactive involvement in sales strategy and execution . Key Responsibilities:- 1. Proposal Preparation & Management Prepare customized technical and commercial proposals for process equipment as per client requirements Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, design, costing) to ensure accuracy and feasibility of proposals Ensure timely submission of proposals and documentation as per client specifications 2. Client Follow-up & Negotiation Regularly follow up with clients on submitted proposals Support in technical discussions , clarifications, and commercial negotiations Maintain a professional rapport with clients , consultants, and decision-makers throughout the sales cycle 3. Lead Handling & Conversion Manage incoming and outgoing sales leads from inquiry to order closure Work on old and dormant leads to explore additional product or service opportunities Maintain and update CRM/database with all client interactions and lead status 4. Client Visits & Field Engagement Conduct PAN India client visits for business discussions, proposal follow-ups, and relationship building Present company capabilities, product range, and customized solutions during visits Actively participate in product presentations, plant visits, and solution walkthroughs Skills Required Strong experience in proposal engineering or technical sales in the chemical or process equipment industry In-depth understanding of Sulphuric Acid plants/equipment and relevant technical specifications Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel & PowerPoint) ; CRM familiarity preferred Strong follow-up discipline and client-oriented mindset Willingness to travel extensively across India Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering 3+ years of experience in sales proposals, technical sales , or business development in relevant industries Experience with Sulphuric Acid plant equipment or allied sectors is highly preferred Preferred Traits Technically sound with a commercial approach Strong documentation and analytical skills Self-driven and goal-oriented Team player with the ability to work independently when required Show more Show less
