GA Staff Nurse

Position:

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Clinical Assistance

• Assist ophthalmologists during OPD consultations, minor procedures, and surgical circulating.
• Perform preliminary eye assessments such as vision testing, eye pressure checks, and patient history documentation.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.

Emergency & Critical Care (ACLS/BLS Certified)

• Respond promptly to medical emergencies within OPD/OT.
• Perform BLS and support ALS protocols during cardiac or respiratory emergencies.
• Maintain emergency equipment, crash cart, and necessary emergency drugs.

Operation Theatre Assistance (if applicable)

• Assist in ophthalmic surgeries.
• Maintain sterile techniques and follow OT safety protocols.
• Manage instrument sterilization and OT preparation.

Infection Control & Safety

• Ensure strict adherence to infection control practices.
• Maintain hygiene and sterilization standards in OPD/OT.
• Monitor biomedical waste segregation and disposal.

Documentation & Administration

• Maintain accurate patient records, nursing notes, and daily reports.
• Ensure proper documentation of emergency care performed as per hospital protocol.
• Assist in inventory management of nursing consumables, OT supplies, and emergency materials.

Patient Education

• Counsel patients on medication usage, post-operative care, and follow-up instructions.
• Provide guidance on eye care and preventive practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• GNM / B.Sc. Nursing.

• Valid ACLS and BLS Certification

  (mandatory).
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience as per hospital preference.
• patient handling skills.
