Role & Responsibilities: Greet customers warmly and take their orders, providing menu recommendations as needed. Grind coffee beans and operate espresso machines and other brewing equipment with precision. Prepare a wide variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and speciality drinks, according to company standards and customer preferences. Prepare and serve other food items like sandwiches and snacks as needed. Operate and maintain coffee equipment like espresso machines, grinders, and brewers, and follow procedures for cleaning them. Take orders from customers and input their selections into the cafe's internal computer systems. Develop sufficient knowledge on the list of products and offerings and effectively and accurately communicate it to customers. Prepare all beverages according to customer requirements within the prescribed time frame. Prepare/reheat/serve food according to the set standards. Grinding, weighing and packing coffee beans for customers. Understanding the basics of all company coffees (roast level and flavour notes). Able to suggest beverages, roasts and equipment based on customers' requirements. Ensures cleanliness at the station and cafe in general during each shift. Respond to guest questions, concerns and complaints and make sure they leave satisfied. Follow all cafe safety and security procedures and arrive on time for all shifts and stay until shift completion. Maintains efficient, friendly service. Clear tables in a timely and thorough manner. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organised work area and seating area. Responds proactively to prevent heated customer service situations. Restocks retail shelves and supplies such as coffee beans, milk, cups and pastries and monitors inventory levels when necessary, keeping in mind set merchandising guidelines. Keeps the retail areas neat and clean. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Qualifications and skills: Previous experience as a barista or in a customer-facing role is often preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Basic math skills for handling transactions. Handle transactions accurately using cash or credit cards. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and drink recipes is a plus. Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations. Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, nights, and weekends. Ability to work on your feet for long hours. Willing to work on weekends and holidays in high-demand season. Strong customer service skills.
