As a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST) in Chennai, you will be involved in developing innovative solutions for cardiac monitoring and diagnosis using non-conventional physiological signals. Your work will focus on designing smart systems enhanced with signal processing, machine learning, and AI techniques to improve the efficiency and accessibility of cardiac health monitoring on a global scale. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct research in biomedical signal acquisition, processing, and interpretation - Develop and integrate sensor-based hardware systems for cardiac monitoring - Apply machine learning and AI methods for pattern recognition and automated diagnosis - Perform data analysis, validation, and optimization of algorithms - Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and conferences **Required Qualifications:** - M.Tech/M.E. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines - Strong background in one or more areas such as Signal Processing, Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence, Instrumentation and Embedded Systems, Programming (Python/MATLAB/C/C++) - Good analytical and problem-solving skills - Passion for research in healthcare technology In addition to the above, the department offers a Fully Funded Ph.D. Fellowship with a monthly stipend of 37,000/month (for NET/GATE qualified candidates) or 31,000/month for regular fellowship holders.
