Demand for our services, which span many types of software across many sectors, is consistently growing into new development work and opportunities for our company. You will become an important senior member of our close-knit development team, contributing to new projects and also helping us to direct and support/extend existing in-house and client solutions. Our development team forms part of a larger IT & Communications company of around 50 employees across Wellington, Hamilton, Tauranga, Auckland, Christchurch and Melbourne. You will be a Senior .NET developer. Your day-to-day work will primarily include: Development and support of .NET software solutions for both Web and Windows. SQL Server configuration and programming for application databases and Reporting/BI Use of Entity Framework and LINQ for application-level data programming Support and development of older systems running on Windows Forms, WPF and MS Access Implementation of ASP.NET Identity Framework and best-practice across authentication and authorisation layers. Office 365 integrations, such as developing software integrations with SharePoint Online Developing solutions that use 3rd party APIs, such as Xero API Critiquing and improving our teams existing work and products as required Contributing to an end-to-end software development process: analysis, comprehension, development, self-testing, deployment. Your primary development environment/toolkit will include (but is not limited to): Backend: .NET Framework (primarily C#, but also some VB) Database: SQL Server 2019 and previous, SSRS, MS Access Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, Javascript/jQuery Integrations: Office 365, Power BI, Zoho CRM, Xero Development tools: Azure DevOps, Visual Studio Enterprise, VS Code, SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Report Builder, Power BI, Postman Project and Support contribution: You will not only be writing code. Our development team is expected to work together to share elements of our wider project and client management needs. As such, you are also expected to contribute: Regular communications with specific clients as a primary support contact for their software. Managing small projects and support requests end-to-end: client contact, analyse, develop, test, deploy . Requirements analysis, based on client communications and meetings. High-level estimation of your required development hours to complete defined work. Ability to contribute to project documentation such as solution design and development plans. Reporting to the Team Leader (a fellow senior developer) and the General Manager Managing your own timesheets day-to-day Candidates must have: At least 4 years professional experience in a similar paid role using the relevant technologies. The primary skill requirements are: Proficiency in .NET backend development with C# Proficiency in SQL Server/SSRS development Proficiency in API-based development/integrations Extensive experience developing with our main development software: Visual Studio Enterprise SQL Server Management Studio A strong grasp of software coding technologies and development methodologies and the required languages already. Experience with popular older Windows platforms: Windows Forms, WPF, and MS Access Experience in front-end development to be able to produce functional user interfaces.
