Job Title: Boiler and Turbine -Operator/engineer for Rice Mill Reports to: Plant Manager Location: Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria · Ensure all SOPs for boiler operation are followed. · Ensure proper cleaning of the boiler during shift operation. · Attend downtime and bring back machines in operation at the optimum time. · Allocation of boiler team daily for smooth operation. · Coordinate with the parboiling team for a smooth supply of steam to parboiling. · Coordinate with the engineering team for a smooth supply of electricity through the turbine to the plant. · Taking care of soft water treatment plant, quality check and chemical dosing. · Reporting shift activity after completion of shift. · Create and enter properly documented records of inspections, maintenance routines and repairs, and maintain daily report logbook. · Identification & preparation of spares requirement. · Highlighting general consumables requirements. · Preparation of daily report – stream & power generation. · Identify weekend maintenance, plan and coordinate with local employee’s line operator and line supervisor for smooth maintenance activity. · Training of local staff for boiling operation. · Ensure annual maintenance activities are done on time in full compliance. · Maintain safe operations by ensuring adherence to the boiler operating procedures. · Inspect safety devices daily, running tests and reporting any unusual situations. · Monitor and identify potential issues that could impact safety and take appropriate steps including suspending operations where necessary to fix the problem. · Manage boiler room, the boiler machine and related facilities, ensuring clean, safe, functional and organized work areas at all times. · Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and regulations · Supervise a team of assistant operators and mechanics by delegating repair, maintenance and monitoring tasks, scheduling jobs, providing appropriate instruction and giving constructive feedback on performance. · Train down-the-line crew for boiler & turbine operation. · Perform other functions as required. · Requirements: · 1. Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Boiler 1 st class certificate or a related field. · 2. Experience: Minimum 12-15 years of experience in Boiler operation (high and low pressure), Turbine preferably in a rice mill or similar food processing environment. · 3. Technical skills: Strong knowledge of Boiler and turbine operations · 4. Leadership skills: Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and developing second line operators’ teams. · 5.
