Founding Quant & Engineering Team

Role Overview: At Stellar, you will be a part of the founding quant & engineering team in Mumbai. Your main responsibility will be to deeply own at least one vertical and collaborate across others. The role involves quantitative research, quantitative development, and product development/full-stack engineering. Key Responsibilities: - Quantitative Research: - Develop advanced models for low-frequency predictions of returns and risks, focusing on Indian equities and other asset classes - Build configurable, robust portfolio optimizers compatible with various benchmarks and constraints - Drive continuous improvement of alpha generation and capacity expansion - Quantitative Development: - Build scalable quantitative investment systems and robust data pipelines for multi-asset-class support - Develop and maintain comprehensive platforms for alpha research, backtesting, and live experimentation - Product Development / Full-Stack Engineering: - Rapidly prototype, conduct user experiments, validate portfolio customization needs, and iteratively enhance product experiences and client workflows - Build APIs and services that seamlessly integrate quantitative research, optimization outputs, and real-time portfolio analytics into intuitive user workflows Qualification Required: - Experience: 3-8 years in quant research, quant systems engineering, data science, or full-stack engineering - Education: Strong academic background in quantitative disciplines (computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, etc) from premier institutions - Prior Roles: Experience in quant investing/hedge/trading funds, fast-paced startups, or high-quality open-source contributions - AI-native productivity: Fluency with cutting-edge AI tools - Or something untraditional that trumps all of the above Company Details: Stellar is focused on building AI-powered investment management for modern Indians.
