Role & responsibilities - Sales Forecasting and Planning. - Sales Execution. - Business Development. - Marketing. - Customer Service. - Human Resource Management. - Ensure implementation of all relevant company SOPs. - Work closely with customers and sales personnel to gather data and insights for sales plans. - Develop and maintain detailed sales plans, including territory assignments and targets. - Clearly communicate sales plans and targets to all relevant stakeholders. - Assist in creating accurate sales forecasts and budgetary plans. - Define territory wise beat plans and upload these to the companys SFA software. - Develop and maintain territory wise primary sales network plans. - Develop, communicate and execute comprehensive sales strategies and tactics to meet/exceed sales targets and achieve strategic sales objectives. - Prepare periodic market visit plans for field sales personnel and promptly upload these plans to the companys SFA software. - Closely monitor the field activity of sales personnel and ensure that it complies with company policies and propagates the companys sales and marketing objectives. - Implement strong receivables review and follow-up mechanisms to ensure that collections are made as per the company’s payment policies. - Analyse sales performance against plans and targets, identify areas for improvement, share actionable insights and recommend adjustments to sales strategies. - Analyse sales performance against schemes and evaluate their effectiveness. - Monitor market trends and competitors' activities to identify potential opportunities and threats. - Conduct monthly performance reviews with customers, exchange incisive feedback, highlight pain points and outline improvement plans. - Conduct market research to identify potential customers and industries for business expansion. - Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals. - Utilize the company’s CRM software to track and manage business opportunities. - Organize and attend trade shows, exhibitions and conferences to represent the company and network with potential customers and industry professionals. - Share feedback and insights on customer needs and market trends to help refine product offerings and shape the company’s new product development pipeline. - Ensure that marketing collaterals are correctly displayed at the POS to create the desired brand awareness. - Assist in the development of marketing collaterals such as catalogues, price lists, newsletters, policy letters and flyers following the company’s branding guidelines. - Assist in the development of compelling marketing proposals and presentations for potential customers. - Act as the main point of contact for customers and address inquiries and resolve issues promptly. - Understand customer needs and recommend products to address their specific requirements. - Coordinate with the sales administration team to ensure exceptional post sales service. - Develop and implement customer engagement schemes and strategies. - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers via outstanding customer service. - Assist with the onboarding of new sales team members. - Set KPI targets periodically. - Conduct monthly performance review meetings for sales personnel. - Provide timely performance feedback and improvement insights to subordinates and help them achieve their KPI targets. - Ensure the implementation of HR and wider organizational policies and procedures in the sales department. - Understand, live and propagate the core values of the company. Preferred candidate profile We are looking for a seasoned sales professional with 10+ years of experience in core channel sales within the building materials industry. The ideal candidate should be strong in sales planning, execution, and territory management , with a proven ability to drive growth through effective channel development. The candidate must be skilled in sales forecasting, beat planning, primary network expansion, and receivables management , along with deep exposure to SFA/CRM tools . Strong analytical skills, the ability to monitor performance against targets, and a data-driven approach are essential.
