Role: Senior React Native Developer Position: Full-time Remote (Work From Home) Platform: Yokel – A community-driven fundraising and local commerce platform About Yokel Yokel is building a platform that connects local businesses, communities, and fundraisers in a seamless, automated way. Users make purchases at participating merchants, and automatically support local causes—no manual tracking, no friction. Our mobile app is central to this experience: event discovery, QR-code-based deep linking, real-time fundraiser progress, purchase insights, and community engagement. We are growing quickly and are looking for a senior engineer who can help us scale our React Native application with quality, performance, and great user experience. Role Overview We are seeking a Senior React Native Developer to join the Yokel mobile application team. You will be a part of developing and managing major feature builds, architecture decisions, performance improvements, app store deployments, and collaborate closely with backend, product, and design teams. This is a high-impact role—your work will directly shape the experience of thousands of users participating in local fundraisers and community events. Key Responsibilities Drive development of new features and improvements in the React Native mobile app. Architect scalable, maintainable, high-performance mobile codebases. Implement and maintain deep linking , universal links , QR code flows , and advanced navigation patterns. Integrate front-end components with APIs, including secure flows such as Stripe account linking and transaction data retrieval . Improve app reliability, performance, and UI responsiveness. Own the end-to-end CI/CD pipeline for mobile (builds, OTA updates, store submissions). Collaborate with backend engineers to define API contracts and optimize data flows. Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and help establish engineering best practices. Work closely with product and design to ensure exceptional user experiences. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. 5+ years of professional experience in mobile development and 3+ years building production apps in React Native . As this is a remote position, strong command over spoken and written English is a must. Strong knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript , functional patterns, and modern RN architecture. Experience with React Navigation , deep linking, universal links, and complex routing. Experience integrating with backend services and third-party SDKs (Plaid experience is a plus). Familiarity with iOS and Android native modules , bridging, and platform-specific constraints. Strong understanding of performance optimization, offline handling, and state management using Redux. Experience with CI/CD , app versioning, and App Store / Play Store submission processes. Strong communication skills and ability to operate autonomously in a remote environment. Nice-to-Have Experience with Stripe , or other financial APIs. Experience with using AI based tools such as Cursor, CoPilot etc will really help. Experience with analytics, monitoring, and error-tracking tools (Sentry, Firebase, etc.). Prior startup experience—comfortable moving fast and iterating.
