Fitter

Key Responsibilities1. Fabrication & Assembly

• Fabricate and assemble frames, pressure vessels, piping layouts, brackets, and sheet metal components used in air dryers.
• Fit and prepare components for welding (MIG/TIG/ARC).
• Ensure proper alignment, joint preparation, and fixture usage during fabrication.

2. Interpretation of Technical Drawings

• Read and understand fabrication drawings, P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), and mechanical assembly drawings.
• Identify materials, dimensions, tolerances, and welding symbols.

3. Cutting & Shaping Operations

• Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, bending, and layout marking.
• Operate fabrication tools such as shearing machines, angle grinders, drilling machines, and hydraulic presses.

4. Piping Fabrication for Air Dryers

• Fit and route compressed air piping, copper tubing, condensate drains, and filter housings.
• Prepare pipe joints (socket weld, butt weld, threaded fittings, compression fittings).

5. Quality & Safety

• Conduct dimensional checks and verify tolerances on fabricated parts.
• Ensure compliance with ASME/IS standards (if applicable for pressure-bearing components).
• Maintain safe work practices and follow company safety protocols.

6. Equipment Handling

• Use lifting tools (chain pulley blocks, cranes, jigs & fixtures) for heavy part handling.
• Maintain tools and report equipment maintenance requirements.

7. Coordination

• Work closely with welders, machine operators, QA team, and production supervisors.
• Support prototype fabrication and design improvements.

Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills

• Knowledge of fabrication techniques (cutting, fitting, tack welding, grinding).
• Ability to read technical and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of pressure vessels, air dryers, and compressed air components (preferred).
• Familiarity with materials: MS, SS, Copper, Aluminum.
• Basic knowledge of welding symbols and weld joint preparation.

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail and quality.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work under production deadlines.
• Teamwork and communication.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: ITI Fitter / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience:
• 1–5 years of fabrication experience (preferably in air dryer, pressure vessel, HVAC, or industrial equipment manufacturing).
• Freshers with practical trade skills may also be considered.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy components using proper techniques.
• Comfortable working in a fabrication workshop environment.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹9,702.38 - ₹26,697.30 per month
