We are seeking an Agronomist to drive the transformation of agriculture through sustainable, tech-driven, and practical sustainable farming solutions. You will leverage your expertise in soil science and crop management to develop innovative, data and science-backed practices that empower farmers to increase productivity while ensuring long-term farm sustainability. Primary Responsibilities: What we expect from you? Ø Develop DPRs : Create practical, monitorable, data-driven Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that help farmers improve soil health, manage crops effectively, and use resources efficiently. Ø Collaborate with Industry Experts : Collaborate with agronomists, experienced farmers, senior consultants in order to generate farming SOPs, crop suitability, planning and other decision making parts. Ø Crop Suitability Analysis : Engage in crop suitability analysis with proven methods using AI tools. Gather socio-economic and geographical insights through remote and physical farm land survey. Ø Soil Testing & Analysis : Oversee soil testing, crop growth, analyze results, generate periodic reports, and provide recommendations to enhance soil quality and boost crop yields. Ø Data-Driven Decisions : Gather data from online and offline sources ( from farm-technicians/supervisors/labours) and analytics to monitor farming practices continuously. Interpret soil, crop health, and environmental (especially weather forecasts) data to refine SOPs and guide on-the-ground decisions. Ø Farm Support & Monitoring : Conduct periodic farm visits to evaluate crop health, assess SOP effectiveness, assess risks, and ensure farmers implement best practices for maximum efficiency. Ø GIS for Land Suitability : Utilize GIS tools to analyze land suitability, delineate crop zones, and generate actionable insights for farmers. Ø Farmer Training & Support : Work directly with farmers to provide training, answer questions, and support them in implementing sustainable farming practices. Generate technical presentation, technical bulletins, and social media posts (as write-up) for awareness and promotion. Ø Innovation & Startup Mindset : Thrive in a fast-paced startup environment by adapting quickly, thinking creatively, building scalable solutions, improving practices, and contributing to company growth. Skillset Requirement to be successful: Ø Agronomic Expertise : Strong understanding of soil science, crop management, crop suitability, crop selection, and sustainable farming practices. Knowledge of bio-farming techniques is a plus. Ø Soil Testing & Analysis : Hands-on experience with soil testing (sampling, lab analysis, data interpretation) and a deep understanding of soil fertility and its impact on crop production. Ø Data-Driven & Tech-Savvy : Comfortable using data analysis to guide farming practices. Experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) to enhance farm operations and land suitability analysis. Ø Innovation & Problem-Solving : Ability to solve complex farming challenges with practical, scalable solutions backed by science and technology. Ø Field Experience : Proven experience working on the ground, conducting field assessments, providing hands-on guidance, and ensuring proper implementation of sustainable farming practices. Ø Startup Culture Fit : Comfort and adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment, where roles are fluid, and quick, effective decision-making is critical. You will be a self-starter who is able to work independently, anticipate needs, and take initiative for achieving successful outcomes. Ø Communication Skills : Clear and concise communication skills to deliver training, interact with farmers, and document insights. Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team. Qualification Requirement: Ø Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Indian university or institute. Ø Proficiency in GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) and data analysis for land suitability assessment and precision/predictive agriculture. Ø 1-2 years of field experience engaging with farmers, conducting agronomic assessments, and delivering training or support. Ø Strong problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and flexibility to thrive in an innovative, fast-paced startup. Salary & Benefits: Ø 6 months training stipend up to 10,000 INR per month (based on skills). Ø Daily fixed travel and food allowance options. Ø Performance bonus options.
