About us: Basic Healthcare Services (BHS) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting marginalized and vulnerable communities in leading healthy lives with dignity. Operating a network of primary healthcare centers known as AMRIT Clinics, BHS aims to deliver high-quality, affordable primary health care services to rural and tribal communities in south Rajasthan. With six clinics serving a population of nearly 100,000, predominantly tribal, BHS is a prominent advocate for primary healthcare and conducts research to enhance public health systems. Committed to enhancing the nutritional well-being of the community, especially young children, BHS established day-care centers called Phulwaris. These centers offer nutrition, stimulation, and healthcare services to children aged 6 months to five years in areas where child malnutrition levels are high. Currently, BHS operates 17 Phulwaris across the Salumbar and Udaipur districts, ensuring children receive adequate nourishment and a safe environment for growth. Furthermore, efforts are underway to strengthen the Early Childhood Development (ECD) program, where your participation will be crucial. As an ECD Fellow, you will be instrumental in devising, executing, monitoring, and training staff in essential child health and development services. What does work at BHS offer a young professional As a Fellow-ECD, you will collaborate with a diverse team engaged in providing primary healthcare services to vulnerable communities in remote rural areas. This role presents an opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding and skills in managing high-quality primary healthcare services, creating and implementing capacity-building initiatives for healthcare teams, assessing their impact, and exploring the connection between primary healthcare and social determinants of health within communities. Moreover, you will receive guidance from senior public health professionals at BHS and partner organizations. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the Executive (Nutrition) to devise strategies, implement plans, design age-appropriate activities, and conduct them for children aged 6 months to 5 years in Phulwaris as part of the Early Childhood Development program. - Provide training and guidance to Phulwari supervisors, including Phulwari workers, on ECD activities and best child care practices. - Document activity implementation and share field experiences. - Contribute to the team executing child care-related activities, enhancing services at the Phulwaris, and working alongside nutritionists, public health professionals, field supervisors, and other experts. Eligibility criteria: - Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. - Minimum of one year of experience in the Early Childhood Development (ECD) sector, preferably in rural settings. Place of Posting: The Fellow-ECD position is based in Salumber clustered. Immersion in both AMRIT Clinics, Phulwaris, and the served communities is essential for this role. Remuneration: Remuneration will be determined by organizational policies, considering the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Travel and related expenses incurred in connection with the role will be reimbursed following organizational guidelines.
