Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role based in Palakkad. The CFO will oversee and direct the financial operations of the organization, including financial planning, reporting, and analysis. They will be responsible for managing budgets, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role requires collaboration with the executive team to develop strategies for long-term financial health and success. Key Responsibilities1. Financial Strategy & Planning Develop and implement the financial vision, strategy, and annual budget aligned with hospital growth plans. Forecast revenues, operational expenses, and capital expenditures for ophthalmic services, surgical departments, pharmacies, optical stores, and diagnostic units. Identify new revenue opportunities such as specialty clinics (retina, cornea, cataract, pediatric, glaucoma), optical business expansion, insurance tie-ups, etc. 2. Financial Operations & Controls Oversee day-to-day financial operations: billing, receivables, payables, payroll, procurement, and asset management. Establish strong internal controls to prevent revenue leakage, especially in surgery billing, pharmacy & optical sales. Ensure compliance with NABH standards related to financial management. 3. Revenue Growth & Cost Optimization Strengthen revenue cycle management (RCM) across OP, IP, surgery, insurance, optical & pharmacy. Optimize costs in consumables (IOL, lenses), implants, surgical equipment servicing, and ophthalmic pharmaceutical procurement. Monitor ROI from new technologies like phaco machines, laser systems, OCT, fundus equipment. 4. Statutory Compliance & Audit Ensure timely statutory filings (GST, Professional tax, TDS, Income tax). Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure 100% legal compliance. Enhance transparency in patient billing, insurance claims, subsidies, and CSR procedures. 5. Insurance & Corporate Tie-ups Negotiate and manage contracts with insurance companies, TPA, government panels (CGHS, ECHS, Ayushman Bharat). Evaluate service rates periodically to avoid revenue losses. 6. Leadership & Team Management Lead and mentor finance, billing, insurance & procurement teams. Develop data-driven dashboards for management related to surgeries, OP, IP, optical, pharmacy & insurance. Key Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of hospital finance models, especially ophthalmology business units. Expertise in healthcare revenue cycle management. Excellent analytical, leadership, negotiation & stakeholder management skills. Ability to drive digital transformation (ERP, automated billing, e-claims, CRM). Educational Qualification CA / CMA / MBA Finance or equivalent. 10+ years of experience in healthcare finance (preferably in multispecialty or specialty eye hospitals).
