Data Modeler Location: Mumbai, Pune Experience: 10+ years Employment Type: [Full-time/Contract] Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with deep expertise in database modeling, cloud technologies, and data architecture to support data migration, modernization, and analytics initiatives within our Enterprise Data Lake. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical research and biopharmaceutical services, with the ability to work cross-functionally and deliver scalable data solutions that meet business needs. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain database models, data marts, and ETL mappings ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. Lead data migration and modernization efforts in the Enterprise Data Lake, aligning with cloud-first strategies. Collaborate with Enterprise Information Management, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs. Implement source-to-target mappings, data pipelines, workflows, and transformation logic using Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks. Support data load processes, validation strategies, quality analysis, issue resolution, unit testing, and release management. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure changes impacting integration interfaces are communicated and implemented seamlessly. Identify areas for optimization and improvement in data processes and architecture. Present technical ideas, findings, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Drive best practices for data governance, quality assurance, and metadata management. Assist in the documentation of data models, workflows, and integration interfaces. Support agile project management practices using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps (ADO), Confluence, or Asana. Required Skills and Qualifications 10+ years of experience in data modeling and database design. Strong knowledge of data modeling tools such as ER Studio or Erwin . Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse , Azure Data Factory , and Databricks is preferred. Extensive experience with database modeling, data pipelines, ETL mappings, sessions, and workflows implementation. Domain expertise in Clinical Research Organizations (CRO) and Biopharmaceutical services . Proven experience with data migration and data modernization projects in large-scale data platforms. Strong understanding of data architecture, data marts, data pipelines, and analytics platforms. Ability to coordinate scheduling, data validation strategies, and testing protocols. Solid communication skills for working with diverse teams including Product Owners and business users. Proactive in identifying improvements and presenting recommendations. Working knowledge of Agile tools such as Jira , Azure DevOps (ADO) , Confluence , or Asana . Preferred Qualifications Cloud certifications or experience in Azure environments. Prior experience in data lake and analytics solutions for healthcare or life sciences sectors. Knowledge of data governance frameworks and metadata management.
