The Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) plays a crucial role in enabling the World Bank Group to fulfill its mission of eradicating extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity on a sustainable planet. Operating under limited supervision, the incumbent will develop technical and business components in Python that integrate seamlessly with the Data Management system processes, while also working proficiently in a cloud environment. The role demands efficient, reusable, and scalable code development, translating application requirements into functional solutions, estimating work effort, and collaborating effectively with peers. Key Responsibilities: - Develop efficient, reusable, testable, and scalable Python code - Translate application storyboards and concept designs into dynamic applications - Work on cloud environments utilizing the latest technologies - Provide well-documented work and training to peers as needed - Manage technical challenges and plan contingencies effectively - Stay updated on emerging technologies to build algorithms as per requirements - Demonstrate strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting skills, and problem-solving abilities - Possess excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams - Showcase proficiency in data management systems, data processing, and Object-Oriented technology - Uphold a sense of urgency, thoughtful risk-taking, empowerment, and accountability in alignment with WBG Culture Attributes Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems - Experience in building Python-based processes for handling large datasets - Proficiency in Software Development Life Cycle, code control tools, and agile methodologies - Advanced knowledge of data processing, cloud-based data handling, and enterprise data architecture - Strong conceptual, analytical, and judgmental skills - Ability to multitask and deliver impactful results in a dynamic work environment The selected candidate will receive a one-year appointment, renewable at the discretion of the World Bank Group, with a lifetime maximum ET appointment of three years.
