Estimator Shiyard/Ship Repair

Key Responsibilities

• Tendering & Bid Preparation
• Review vessel repair specifications, tender documents, and class survey requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
• Develop competitive quotations and proposals for clients.
• Work Scope Analysis
• Identify technical requirements and potential risks affecting cost and timelines.
• Break down repair scope into measurable work packages.
• Costing & Pricing
• Calculate man-hour requirements based on historical data and productivity rates.
• Source material prices and subcontractor quotes.
• Ensure estimates reflect realistic timelines and resource availability.
• Coordination
• Liaise with production, engineering, and procurement teams for input on technical feasibility and cost implications.
• Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Post-Project Review
• Compare estimated vs. actual costs to improve future pricing accuracy.
• Update cost databases and productivity benchmarks.
• Compliance & Documentation
• Ensure all estimates comply with classification society rules, statutory requirements, and company standards.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, quotations, and supporting data.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

• Diploma/Degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture.

Experience:

• 3–5 years in ship repair estimating, shipyard operations, or marine engineering.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of ship structures, machinery, and repair processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, and costing software.
• Familiarity with classification society rules and SOLAS regulations.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Accuracy of estimates vs. actual project cost.
• Win rate of submitted quotations/tenders.
• Timely submission of estimates.
• Client satisfaction and repeat business.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
