The Design Mechanical Engineer at ESA Innovations will be responsible for creating precise and functional designs of mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software like SolidWorks. This role emphasizes the conceptualization, modeling, and refinement of designs to meet project specifications, manufacturability, and quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in mechanical design principles, and design calculations to ensure that all components are optimized for performance and reliability. As part of a collaborative engineering team, you will work closely with structural analysts and other team members to bring innovative designs to life. Responsibilities Develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks. Conduct necessary design calculations (e.g., dimensioning, tolerance analysis, and basic load calculations) to validate the functionality and reliability of components. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and assembly instructions. Coordinate with structural analysts to ensure designs meet structural and safety requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align designs with project goals, manufacturing feasibility, and industry standards. Participate in design reviews, integrating feedback to refine and optimize designs for performance and manufacturability. Qualifications Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely relat ed field.Advan ced proficiency in CAD software (Sol idWorks, AutoCAD); SolidWorks expertise is essential.Stron g understanding of mecha nical design principles, inc luding dimensioning, tolerancing, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).Famil iarity with desig n calculations rela ted to component dimensioning, material selection, and load-bearing capability.Knowl edge of manuf acturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) .Exce l lent communication skills for clear documentation and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
