Job Tittle - Engineer-QC Reports to - Senior Manager, Projects & SCM Educational Qualification - Diploma in Engineering Diploma in Engineering in fields such as Mechanical, Production or Industrial Engineering, depending on the industry and specific role. Years of Experience Mid Level (3–5 years): Knowledge of measurement instruments and mechanical inspection procedures. Experience in Motor Manufacturing Industry & Familiarity with processes. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) preferred. Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word) for reporting and documentation. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of ISO standards and quality tools (5S, 7 QC tools) is an added advantage. Position Summary The Engineer-QC is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in the development and prototype of electric Motors (EV) systems and sustainable motor technologies. The Engineer-QC collaborates with cross-functional teams, and Suppliers to resolve quality issues, optimize supply chain processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position is critical in ensuring product quality compliances. Job Responsibilities: Inspect incoming, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications. Inspection at Supplier Site (In-process & Final) Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards. Use measurement tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM (if applicable) to measure dimensions. Record and document inspection results; prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records. Inward Materials by using ERP Tool. Identify non-conformities and report them to the relevant departments for corrective action. Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality management systems & Knowledge on Supplier Audit. Assist in the calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment. Work closely with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of components. Tools & Technical Requirements: 1. Tools and Software: o ERP Knowledge. o Data Analysis Tools: Microsoft Office. 2. Standards and Regulations: o Knowledge in QMS standards: ISO 9001: 2015. o Knowledge of compliance requirements for sustainability and environmental regulations. 3. Communication and Leadership: o Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Authority Establishing and enforcing quality standards: The Engineer-QC has the authority to define, set, and implement quality documents for products, services, or processes within the organization. Process Improvement: The Engineer-QC can initiate and drive continuous improvement efforts, using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality management frameworks to enhance product quality and process efficiency. Approval of Test Results: They can make decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of materials, components, or finished products based on test results and quality checks. Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions: The Engineer-QC is a team member to investigations into quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions or process changes to resolve quality problems.
