The Impact you will have in this role:

Being a member of BAPD Lower environment support engineer, you will work with a variety of teams to understand importance of lower environment (Dev & test environments) availability and drive solutions. The Lower Environment Support Engineer provides central coordination for lower environment support across time zones driving issues to resolution through collaborative root cause analysis and application of systemic fixes to reduce repeating breakages and reduce system downtime. This is performed via creation, monitoring, and acting on systemic health checks through automation, event/alert notifications, and dashboards.

Qualifications:

  • Collecting environment artifacts to be monitored and configuring (or ensuring configuration of) artifacts for appropriate events and alerting both on premise and on cloud.
  • Continual monitoring of environment artifact alerts and events through various dashboards and notification subscriptions and acting to address directly or work with lower-level support teams to drive to resolution (inclusive of root cause analysis and problem mgmt.)
  • Obtain knowledge of applications and environment required to provide L1/L2 support by detailed environment and application reviews and knowledge transfer sessions with application owners.
  • Reporting and providing support for complex business processes across various platforms and technology suites that may run at high frequency and across time zones.
  • Creation and management of lower environment L1/L2 incidents/issues via organizational standard tooling and processes and socializing appropriate statistics.
  • Work closely with service/artifact owners to act on identified opportunities.
  • Assist with delivery of automation solutions to be used across the enterprise.
  • Maintain and increase the environment availability which is the key for testing team's success.
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures and supervising controls, spotting key errors, and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
  • Communicates effectively across the organization adjusting messaging based on audience.
  • Maintain a library of reusable material (documents, diagrams, templates, etc.) for use in multiple efforts across DTCC.

Talents Needed for Success:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field required master's preferred and/or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in supporting technologies such as Java, Web and Application servers, Message Queuing, ETL (Snowflake, DataStage, Informatica, Talend, Jenkins), databases
  • Must have a deep understanding of Java application architecture and hands-on experience with application troubleshooting.
