Engr III Spec - Data Engineering

As a data engineer at Verizon, you will be part of a world-class team dedicated to driving the telecom business to its full potential. You will play a crucial role in building data products for telecom wireless and wireline business, including consumer analytics, telecom network performance, and service assurance analytics. Working with cutting-edge technologies like digital twin, you will collaborate with business product owners, data scientists, and system architects to develop strategic data solutions from various sources. Your responsibilities will include data ingestion, preparation, transformation, developing data streaming applications, ETL/ELT development, and contributing to DevOps pipelines. - Understanding the business requirements and translating them into technical designs - Working on Data Ingestion, Preparation, and Transformation - Developing data streaming applications - Debugging production failures and finding solutions - Working on ETL/ELT development - Understanding DevOps processes and contributing to DevOps pipelines - Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience - Experience with Data Warehouse concepts and Data Management life cycle - Experience in GCP cloud platform (Big Query/Cloud Composer/Data Proc(or Hadoop + Spark))/Cloud Function - Experience in any programming language, preferably Python - Proficiency in graph data modeling and graph query language - Exposure to GenAI use cases - Experience in troubleshooting data issues - Experience in writing complex SQL and performance tuning - Experience in DevOps,
