Description
As a Technical Lead within the Foundations EKS Engineering team at Cisco Cloud Security, you will be responsible for developing, building, and managing FedRAMP compliant EKS platform for Umbrella product engineering teams on AWS GovCloud. Your role will involve collaborating with architects and engineers to design, develop, and support enterprise-wide FedRamp Kubernetes Clusters in GovCloud. You will contribute to the automation tools for setting up, configuring, and integrating key cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines, and Service Meshs. Additionally, you will implement unit and functional tests for new and existing features, provide support for customer issues, and collaborate with support engineers and customers to address defects and feature requests. Refactoring existing code for performance and stability, along with maintaining consistency between code and CICD pipeline test tools, will be crucial aspects of this role. Knowledge of EKS, AWS, and Terraform will be highly beneficial in fulfilling your responsibilities. In this position, you will work in a fast-paced, iterative, and agile environment, demonstrating a deep understanding of cloud-native design philosophy. Your responsibilities will span across major public cloud providers such as AWS, as well as on-prem data centers and stores. The ideal candidate should be passionate about automation, consumer experience, and continually striving for improvement within the Foundations Core Infra team. As the Engineering Tech Lead - Cost Management, you will take the lead in cost management and optimization efforts across AWS accounts, collaborating with multiple teams to implement FinOps best practices. Your role will involve developing and maintaining cost dashboards, metrics, and reporting using tools like CloudHealth and AWS Cost Explorer. Providing technical leadership on AWS architecture, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and working with cross-functional teams to analyze and optimize resource consumption in AWS environments will be key responsibilities. You will advise on and implement cost-saving strategies such as Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and spot instances across multiple AWS accounts. Furthermore, you will build and enhance FinOps frameworks and governance processes, identify opportunities for cost avoidance and resource optimization, and provide recommendations on AWS billing structures and cost-effective resource planning. Staying updated with AWS pricing models, services, and cost-saving opportunities will also be essential in this role. Qualifications: - 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering or AWS architecture, with expertise in cost management and FinOps. - 3+ years of experience in Automation using Python, Lambda, etc., for resource provisioning, monitoring, and cost management automation. - Experience in managing cloud cost optimization for large-scale, multi-account environments. - Proficiency in cost management tools like CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer, or custom FinOps tools. - Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Desirable Qualifications: - Experience with pricing models for Enterprises. - Knowledge of building Custom Dashboards using BI tools like QuickSight, Tableau. - AI-based Cost Optimization: Experience with or knowledge of AI/ML tools for automated AWS cost optimization.
