Summary:As a Mechanical Engineering Practitioner, you will design, analyze, and build structures, machines, devices, systems, and mechanical processes. A strategic aerospace engineering leader specializing in rotary wing platforms, with a strong track record in driving technical delivery, innovation, and client satisfaction. Experienced in shaping engineering processes, delivery governance, and team capability development. Proven ability to influence design and compliance strategies through direct engagement with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Passionate about digital transformation, with a focus on advancing MBSE, MBD, and digital continuity across the product lifecycle.
Roles & Responsibilities:Lead and oversee the design and development of aircraft primary and secondary structures, guiding distributed teams across the program.Establish and govern engineering best practices, design review frameworks, and technical quality gates throughout the program lifecycle.Provide technical oversight for concept development, structural architecture, detailed design, integration, and certification phases.Ensure integration of cost, weight, design for manufacturability/assembly (DFM/DFA), and safety targets into structural design processes.Lead root cause investigations, risk assessments, and resolution strategies for design issues, non-conformances, and airworthiness deviations.Act as the technical voice of the program, aligning customer expectations with engineering deliverables and strategic goals. Drive end-to-end scope definition, requirements management, and traceability across the engineering lifecycle. Ensure effective planning, milestone tracking, and schedule variance analysis to maintain alignment with program delivery goals and importantly internal deal construct parameters or solution baselines. Drive robust engineering change management by closely monitoring evolving inputs and requirement changes. Assess and manage the impact of delays on schedule variance, resource allocation, cost, and milestone delivery through a structured change control process aligned with client approvals and governance protocols. Represent engineering during customer technical audits, program quality gate reviews, and change control reviews. Ensure engineering activities meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives while maintaining traceability and compliance. Promote and institutionalize Model-Based Definition (MBD) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for traceability, digital twin integration, and requirement verification. Drive the adoption of systems thinking, ensuring structural designs align with broader system-level functional, interface, and safety requirements. Build and mentor a high-performance engineering team by setting technical vision, growth plans, and knowledge-sharing frameworks. Conduct structured technical coaching, performance reviews, and succession planning for key engineering roles. Contribute to internal competency development initiatives, including design automation, and workflow digitization. Professional & Technical Skills:
  • In-depth understanding of aircraft load-bearing structures, with focus on structural integrity, stiffness, and load path optimization under both static and dynamic conditions. Strong awareness of stress analysis considerations, including fatigue, damage tolerance, and failure modes relevant to metallic and composite airframe components. Practical knowledge of production tooling design, jigs & fixtures, and their influence on design tolerances, datum schemes, and manufacturability. Familiar with assembly line constraints, ergonomic considerations, and sequence planning to ensure seamless integration in high-rate production environments. Proficient in configuration management principles, including part lifecycle management, engineering change control, version tracking, and release processes via PLM systems such as Teamcenter. Expertise in the design and integration of metallic, sheet metal, and composite aircraft structures for both primary and secondary components. Strong understanding of load path optimization, stress inputs, fatigue and damage tolerance, and design-for-certification. Familiarity with airworthiness regulations (e.g., CS-27/29, FAR 23/25), OEM design standards, and FAA/EASA certification processes. Advanced proficiency in Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and other PLM/PDM tools. Working knowledge of CATIA V5, VPM, or ENOVIA is a plus. Solid grasp of GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and industry drawing standards. Experience managing design-to-cost, design-to-weight, and sustainability considerations across the design lifecycle. Exposure to digital twin strategy, systems architecture alignment, and model validation in a systems-engineering context. Proficient in Siemens NX and Teamcenter is essential. Experience in CATIA V5, VPM, ENOVIA, or similar tools is a strong plus. Familiarity with digital engineering ecosystems, including MBD/MBSE implementation, PLM workflows, and engineering change management. Technically strong and solution-oriented, with the ability to guide teams through ambiguity and complexity. Proven experience in technical team leadership, task planning, design reviews, and decision-making across program phases. Strong communication and client engagement skills; able to articulate design rationale and negotiate technical outcomes with stakeholders. Committed to mentoring junior engineers and contributing to organizational knowledge development and delivery excellence. Strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset, especially in design quality, process optimization, and engineering best practices. Proven experience in design and integration of rotary-wing and/or fixed-wing aircraft structures across end-to-end design lifecycle phases. Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teamsincluding design, stress analysis, manufacturing, and qualitywithin complex delivery frameworks for aerostructure development programs. Additional certifications in project management (PMP/Prince2), Six Sigma, or Digital Engineering are advantageous.
    Additional Information:- The candidate should have a minimum of 15 years of experience in Aerostructures domain, with at least 5 years in a technical leadership or program governance role.- This position is based at client location Bengaluru and 6 days a workweek requiring 8 working hours per day and The role is strictly on-site and requires physical presence at the clients office in Bangalore..- A B Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace engineering is required Qualification
