Engineering Manager (Meraki Switching) - Python Automation in Networking Domain

As a Software Engineering Manager at Cisco Meraki, you will lead the MS Test Automation team responsible for ensuring the quality of our Meraki network switch (MS) product line. Your role will involve using your expertise in software and testing to drive the team's success and product excellence. You will be responsible for managing and growing QA engineers, planning the team's roadmap, and collaborating cross-functionally with various departments. Your contribution will be crucial in enhancing the performance and stability of our products. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and track test development timelines, keeping the team informed of any changes - Drive the firmware release process, from selecting a candidate firmware to releasing it to GA - Architect changes to the testbed topology to support testing of a wider range of product features and mimic customer deployment profiles accurately - Implement agile and other software development principles to ensure the delivery of high-quality, stable test frameworks - Conduct regular performance reviews with direct reports, address any issues, set clear expectations, and support professional growth - Collaborate with recruiters to expand the team significantly throughout the year - Contribute to the leadership of the larger MS team by influencing development priorities and participating in team projects Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field - 8+ years of experience in hiring and leading teams of software engineers - 8+ years of experience in software testing and/or QA - Proficiency in configuring and debugging networking equipment and protocols, particularly switching - Hands-on experience in automating or scripting tests using languages like Python or Ruby - Leadership experience in projects involving substantial planning and coordination - Expertise in end-to-end testing of physical embedded devices Bonus Points for: - Familiarity with hardware test tools such as Ixia/Keysight At Cisco Meraki, we value diversity, inclusion, and collaboration to drive innovation and unleash the full potential of our employees.
