Engineering Manager, Local Search Ads Quality

As a Software Engineering Manager at Google, your role goes beyond just Search. You will have the technical expertise to lead major projects and manage a team of Engineers. Your responsibilities include optimizing code, guiding Engineers to optimize theirs, managing project goals, contributing to product strategy, and developing your team. You will work across various technical domains such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and more. Operating with scale and speed, you will play a crucial role in guiding exceptional software engineers. - Lead and manage a team to enhance the quality and coverage of local search ads - Identify new opportunities to drive team growth - Design and develop advanced algorithms, models, and systems to improve local search ads quality - Work on projects involving ML feature engineering, image/video quality, quality experimentation, logs analysis, advertiser reporting, and production stability - Analyze user and advertiser needs on local queries to enhance ads quality - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive solutions - Create documentation, sustainable processes, and principles for faster iteration - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience - 8 years of experience in software development with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript - 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years in people management or team leadership - Preferred qualifications: Experience in Machine Learning, Ad Quality, Search, Data Analysis,
