Engineering Lead Backend

Experience: With over 7 years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role, you are well-equipped to take on the position of Engineering Lead (Backend) at Blox.xyz. Responsibilities: As an Engineering Lead (Backend) at Blox.xyz, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of backend engineers. Your key responsibilities will include providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and supporting the career development of the team members. You will be responsible for owning the design, development, and delivery of robust backend systems and RESTful APIs. Collaboration with product managers, frontend engineers, and QA team members will be essential in delivering high-quality features. Making architectural decisions for scalability, performance, and reliability will be a key aspect of your role. You will also be expected to ensure best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, and deployment are followed, driving the adoption of modern engineering principles, tools, and practices within the team. Troubleshooting production issues and leading root cause analysis to improve system stability will be part of your responsibilities. Tech Stack: In this role, you will be working with a tech stack that includes languages such as Java or PHP (specifically Laravel or Spring Boot), databases like MySQL, MS SQL Server, and Redis, and cloud services provided by AWS. DevOps tools such as Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana will also be part of the tech stack. Other aspects of the tech stack include REST APIs, microservices architecture, and Git version control. Requirements: To excel in this role, you must have a strong understanding of data modeling, caching, performance tuning, and security. Balancing technical depth with business needs and timelines, excellent communication skills, and stakeholder management abilities are also essential requirements. Your experience with version control (Git), CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure will be valuable in this position.
