Engineer Plumbing & Fire Protection (Hospitals)

Role Overview: You will be responsible for undertaking technical reviews, peer reviews, checks, and contributing to the design process. Providing continuous feedback to the Associate/Principal Engineer Plumbing & Fire Protection on the effectiveness of protocols and processes will be crucial for continuous improvement. Participation in project meetings, team meetings, dissemination of information within the team, and effective communication with other teams in WSP will also be part of your role. It will be important for you to identify and act on potential risk issues, following the company's commercial and contracting processes diligently. Managing delegated tasks to meet deadlines and highlighting resourcing concerns to the team leader will be essential. Additionally, identifying and flagging additional fees to the Associate/Principal Engineer Plumbing & Fire Protection will be one of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Possess Plumbing & Fire Protection design experience for commercial and residential buildings at concept, schematic, and detailed design stages - Conduct fixture load calculations and pipe pressure drop calculations - Perform pipe sizing for hot & cold water systems and fire protection - Prepare Plumbing and Fire equipment schedules for pumps, pipes, valves, etc., and Bill of Quantities (BOQs) - Create layouts, schematics, sections, and plant room hand mark-ups - Familiarity with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, ASPE, IPC, and all NFPA Fire codes and standards Desired Skills: - Experience in Heavy Comp for Pipe sizing - Knowledge of cold & hot water and drainage distribution systems - Proficiency in Revit MEP software for 3D modeling and coordination Qualifications: - B.Tech /B.E. in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering,
