Job Description

The Engineer, Cybersecurity Architecture position at Magna involves assisting the Information Security Risk and Compliance (ISRC) group with technical and compliance tasks. The role requires a foundational understanding of computing platforms, environments, compliance frameworks, and proficiency in scripting languages. As the Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining computing systems, analyzing firewall policies, overseeing security settings in Cloud platforms, staying updated on security trends, and providing feedback to enhance Magna's enterprise security. The ideal candidate should possess a college degree or equivalent work experience. Additionally, familiarity with scripting languages like Python or PHP, security settings in Cloud platforms, networking basics, cybersecurity frameworks, regulations, firewall policies, database concepts, and integration with APIs is required. Strong communication skills in English, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, experience in working within a diverse global team, effective task prioritization, and self-motivation to independently manage projects are essential for success in this role. The work environment for this position involves a typical office setting with a moderate amount of sitting or standing and regular computer-based work. Some overnight travel may be required, but it is expected to be minimal (less than 10% of the time). The role may also entail on-call availability and occasional evening and weekend work to meet project deadlines.
