Project Manager – BESS Role Summary To lead & implement projects in conformance with Contractual obligations, project timelines while adhering to Quality, Safety & Cost considerations. Reports to Project Director Stakeholders (Internal & External) Internal – Functional Heads / Managers (Asset Management, M&A, Finance, SCM & Contracts, Legal and Regulatory) External – Relevant Government Authorities and Regulatory bodies Key Role Deliverables: This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, scheduling and direct supervision of the day-to-day project construction activities of the BESS with close coordination of Cross functional teams, numerous development partners at Site and government authorities. The following shall be key responsibilities to be delivered. BESS project in time with safety, quality and cost. Implementation and Compliance with terms and condition of RFP, Contract with subcontractor, regulatory guidelines and technical guidelines of product. Stake holder management which involves Government authorities, Internal cross functional teams, and development partners. Implementation and execution of safety and field quality plan. Ensuring delivery of IndiGrid Safety policy of Zero Harm and lead quality culture of first time right. Develop & implementation of execution strategy as per the timelines assigned and ensure its compliance. Project Manager to work on industry best practice implementation. Building MIS for the project and maintaining it on daily basis to identify the probable bottle necks. This will require building of S curve for procurement and execution. Work with central PMO team and partner team to ensure smooth and accurate information flow of MIS and other dashboard inputs. Implementation of risk register at project level, identifying the bottle neck and work on the resolution upfront ensuring timely delivery of the project. Which may require discussion with Cross functional teams. Oversee the documentation with respect to internal communication, external communication and technical documentation. This will required to maintain the communication register and ensuring compliance of the same. This will also require uploading all the communication on the DMS portal of IndiGrid as record keeping. Prepare scope of work and cost estimates for any additional work envisaged during the construction and shall make efforts to minimize scope creep and cost overrun. Oversee and track reconciliation of material as per the BOQ as per the contract and in case of civil reconciliation of earth material and its local compliance. Ensure implementation of product guideline to be followed during storage of the equipment’. HOTO to asset management post completion of the project. General Management Strong collaboration with concerned stakeholders and functionals teams within IndiGrid. Ability to assess the performance of project execution requirements and keeping eye of behavior for safety, quality, schedule of work, productivity and cooperation. Travel Required Travel as required to Government authorities, Project Sites or offices across India Education & Experience Essentials Desirable B.E. or B.Tech. in Electrical or Equivalent Engineering from an accredited University 8-12 years of hands-on experience in BESS project construction including civil/electrical/C&I packages. Proven work experience as a Project Manager in the construction of Substations up to 400 kV. Experience in Project Management from concept to commissioning of 220kV AIS / GIS Substation. Strong Leadership & Organizational Skills, including multitasking and time management. Strong stakeholder management and teamwork skills. Effective Communication skills. Must have worked on the BESS project and should understand the critical factors of the BESS project. Indepth understanding of EHS requirements / compliances for substation construction activities. Hands on understanding of Electrical power systems with in-depth technical knowledge on Substation equipment like EHV Transformers, Reactors, CB/ CT/CVT/LAs etc, Protection System, C&R/SAS, MCC and balance of equipment such as Fire-fighting system, UPS/Battery system, SCADA and associated systems. Experience in implementation of Transmission Lines/O&M shall be an added advantage. In-depth knowledge of power schematics/engineering drawings/engineering BOM etc. Should have in-depth knowledge of communication protocols and challenges. Fully aware of High Voltage and Extra High Voltage Substations and Transmission lines with Underground/Overhead Cables, HV/MV/LV Distributions, utilities and other Electrical installations Applicable Electrical licenses or Substation certifications Strong Interpersonal, Collaborative and Administrative skills.
