As the Director, Legal (Assistant General Counsel) at Cvent in Gurgaon, India, you will have the opportunity to be a key player in an in-house legal team, supporting the sales and procurement functions of a leading meetings, events, and hospitality technology provider. Working closely with the General Counsel and Associate General Counsel, you will collaborate with various departments such as Sales, Human Resources, Information Security, Technology, and Finance to help Cvent manage its risks and achieve its high-growth objectives. Your role will involve leading commercial legal negotiations, drafting and negotiating various contracts including SaaS customer agreements, vendor contracts, real estate leases, and professional services agreements. You will also train and oversee team members in commercial legal negotiations, anticipate and resolve legal issues, provide legal advice on commercial matters, manage legal risks through policies and procedures, ensure compliance, and handle corporate governance and compliance matters in India. In addition to handling mergers and acquisitions, conducting legal research, managing compliance training, and advising on privacy and data protection laws, you will also provide legal guidance on employee matters, internal investigations, litigation, and disputes. Your responsibilities will also include analyzing legal issues, drafting agreements, and ensuring legal compliance across the company. To qualify for this position, you must have an LLB from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law, with at least 10 years of relevant experience (in-house experience preferred). You should possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to work well independently and with a team, practical judgment in legal problem-solving, business acumen, multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and excellent drafting and negotiation skills. Additionally, you should be a self-starter who can work under pressure, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment. Integrity, professional ethics, credibility with executive-level management, and a commitment to staying updated on relevant laws and regulations are also essential for this role.,
