Role Purpose: The primary objective of this role is to offer solutions that bridge the gap between technology and business acumen to deliver effective client solutions. Key Responsibilities: 1. Perform daily operational tasks such as storage provisioning and ensuring availability at customer site(s) by adhering to standardized procedures. 2. Execute business continuance and disaster recovery plans in collaboration with Wipro and the client. 3. Participate in designing and executing the customer's storage disaster recovery process. 4. Manage various daily storage management tasks and provide recommendations for efficient storage system utilization. 5. Demonstrate expertise in implementing and utilizing EMC & Hitachi storage solutions. 6. Stay abreast of industry best practices for implementing complex storage environments. 7. Conduct necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in line with customer's change management policies. 8. Contribute to ongoing review and enhancement of operational policies and procedures following EMC/Hitachi's storage management best practices. Fault/Incident/Activity Management: - Monitor and maintain storage subsystems and fabric infrastructure. - Conduct health checks on the storage infrastructure periodically. - Ensure security and effective access control for the storage subsystem. - Integrate storage subsystems with standard monitoring tools. - Perform storage tuning and provisioning based on requirements. - Implement storage tier to facilitate storage reclamation. - Monitor storage efficiency using software tools and take corrective actions as needed. - Configure Storage OEM tools for monitoring critical parameters and reporting. - Configure backup for SAN switches and coordinate hardware replacements with OEM. Storage Administration Tasks: - Configure port settings and zoning. - Manage RAID and file system configurations. - Oversee physical disk management and security settings. - Administer volume configuration with user rights and permissions. - Manage and audit volume usage by designated users. Skill Upgradation and Competency Building: - Clear Wipro exams and internal certifications to upgrade skills. - Attend trainings and seminars to enhance knowledge in functional/technical domains. - Contribute by writing papers, articles, and case studies for publication on the intranet. Deliverables: - Contribution to customer projects in terms of quality, SLA adherence, ticket resolution, problem-solving, change request implementation, and customer satisfaction. - Automation initiatives for process optimization and ticket reduction. - Skill enhancement through completed trainings, certifications, and published work.
