Embedded Test Engineer

As an Embedded Test Engineer at our company in Bangalore, India, your role will involve validating embedded hardware-software systems through test planning, execution, automation, and close collaboration with developers. Your strong understanding of embedded systems is crucial for qualifying products using the appropriate processes and methodologies. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Requirement Understanding and Test Case Development:** Collaborate with developers and architects to understand system requirements. Create and maintain clear test cases, scenarios, and acceptance criteria. - **Test Execution and Support:** Execute system, product, and component tests based on defined test plans and strategies. Assist in validating hardware-firmware integrated products. - **Test Automation and Tool Usage:** Develop simple test scripts using automation tools or scripting languages like Python or Perl. Utilize embedded system testing tools and frameworks effectively. - **Defect Reporting and Tracking:** Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools. Support defect analysis and re-testing until resolution. - **Documentation:** Maintain test execution records, update traceability matrices, and contribute to test reports. Ensure documentation complies with project standards. - **Team Collaboration:** Work closely with a lean and self-organized development and test team. Actively participate in review meetings and defect triaging sessions. **Required skills and knowledge:** - Good understanding of embedded systems testing and system-level testing. - Hands-on experience in testing large and complex systems involving hardware-software co-design. - Experience with debugging tools and techniques for embedded hardware. - Proficiency in test automation scripting, such as Python and Perl. - Understanding of testing methodologies, validation processes, and quality assurance standards. - Proven track record of managing the testing lifecycle and ensuring high-quality deliverables. In this full-time role, you will be expected to work in the office in Bangalore.
