You will be part of a dynamic team that requires expertise in Python, MATLAB, and various scientific libraries. **Responsibilities:** - Thoroughly analyze existing MATLAB codebase, algorithms, data structures, and functionalities to understand their purpose and underlying principles. - Document MATLAB tools, core logic, dependencies, and challenges for migration. - Collaborate with end-users and domain experts to capture requirements and performance metrics. - Develop detailed migration plans with phased approaches and resource estimates. - Select appropriate Python libraries and methodologies for translating MATLAB functionalities. **Essential Skills:** - Expert-level knowledge of Python syntax, object-oriented programming, and design patterns. - Deep understanding and hands-on experience with scientific Python libraries like NumPy and SciPy. - Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Matplotlib and Seaborn. - Ability to read, understand, and debug complex MATLAB code. - Proficiency with Git, unit testing frameworks like pytest, and code quality tools. - Understanding of software design principles and experience with data formats like HDF5 and CSV. **Additional Skills & Qualifications:** - Experience with integration testing frameworks and MATLAB's plotting capabilities. - Ability to address numerical precision issues during migration.
