Position Overview The Logistics Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of all logistics and supply chain activities within the organization. This role ensures efficient transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution of goods from origin to destination. The manager is responsible for optimizing logistics operations, reducing costs, improving service levels, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities 1. Planning & Coordination Develop and implement logistics strategies to support business objectives. Plan and manage the flow of goods, materials, and information throughout the supply chain. Coordinate with procurement, production, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure timely order fulfillment. 2. Transportation Management Oversee inbound and outbound transportation activities. Select and negotiate with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers. Monitor transportation performance and address delays, damages, or service issues. 3. Warehousing & Inventory Control Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping. Implement inventory management practices to minimize shortages and overstock situations. Ensure proper handling, storage, and tracking of materials and finished goods. 4. Process Optimization Analyze logistics workflows and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Implement best practices, automation tools, and performance measurement systems (KPIs). Lead continuous improvement initiatives across logistics functions. 5. Compliance & Documentation Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations (transportation, customs, safety). Oversee preparation and accuracy of shipping documents, customs paperwork, and inventory records. Maintain knowledge of industry standards and regulatory changes. 6. Team Leadership Supervise and develop logistics staff, including coordinators, drivers, and warehouse personnel. Conduct training and enforce safety and operational policies. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience (3–7+ years) in logistics, supply chain, or operations management. Strong knowledge of transportation, warehousing, and inventory management practices. Proficiency in logistics software (ERP, WMS, TMS). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities. Preferred Qualifications Professional certifications such as CSCP, CLTD, or Six Sigma. Experience with international shipping, customs regulations, and trade compliance. Advanced skills in data analysis, forecasting, and process optimization.
