Electrical Technician

As a Generator Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical generator systems and related mechanical components. Your role will involve troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance to ensure reliable power generation. Additionally, you will interact with customers, communicate repair details, and maintain accurate records. Your responsibilities will include setting up new generators and associated equipment to ensure proper functionality, performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections, diagnosing and repairing generator issues, and identifying the root cause of malfunctions using diagnostic tools and testing equipment. You will also conduct regular checks and services to prevent potential issues and extend the lifespan of the generator. Furthermore, you will be required to communicate with customers about service needs, repair progress, and solutions, providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive relationships with clients. Keeping detailed records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used, time spent, and expenses, will be essential. It is crucial to follow all safety procedures and regulations related to electrical work, working with hazardous materials, and operating equipment. You must be available for emergency repairs and after-hours service as needed. The essential skills and qualifications for this role include a strong knowledge of diesel and gas-powered generators, electrical systems, and mechanical components, the ability to diagnose and resolve complex generator issues, proficiency in working with tools, interpreting schematics, and understanding electrical codes, effective communication with customers and team members, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in various environments. Traveling to different job sites may be required. This is a full-time, permanent position suitable for fresher candidates.
