Job Description

We are looking to hire an experienced electrical maintenance incharge to look after the electrical system of Bhilai Steel Plant. As a maintenance incharge, you will be required to conduct general maintenance inspections, respond to faults, and install electrical appliances for the building. To ensure success as a maintenance incharge, you should have high-level problem-solving skills, extensive experience working with industrial electrical systems, and good communication skills. Ultimately, a top-class maintenance incharge who ensures the smooth running for the plants electrical system and resolves issues quickly and efficiently. Maintenance Electrician Responsibilities: Routinely inspecting electrical systems. Identifying faults or hazards and ensure prompt rectification.. Plan, assign, and supervise daily maintenance tasks for the electrical team to ensure regular preventive maintenance is conducted. Troubleshooting system failures. Reviewing blueprints to understand electrical assets. Testing of electrical systems with desired instruments. Providing suggestions for equipment replacement. Installing new electrical equipment in the plant. Coordinate with the Head of the Electrical Department and other relevant for operational needs. Ensure immediate deployment of available manpower for fault rectification. Visit sites to inspect faults and guide the team on resolution. Prepare and manage shift schedules for manpower; arrange additional manpower if needed. Maintain attendance records and monitor productivity of the maintenance team. Ensure daily lineup of regular maintenance activities. Source and procure essential electrical materials locally when needed. Maintain clear communication with other departments to avoid any downtime or delay. Take complete ownership of all electrical maintenance issues ensure they are addressed proactively and resolved with no repeat complaints. Maintain logs and reports for all fault rectifications and preventive maintenance tasks. The candidate must be reachable and available in case of urgent electrical faults outside normal working hours. Maintenance Incharge Requirements: Graduation in electrical engineering. Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code. Good problem-solving skills. Physically strong and able to stand for long periods. 3–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, in an industrial, manufacturing, or plant environment. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, panels, motors, lighting systems, and industrial machinery. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and manuals. Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance procedures. Proven ability to lead, guide, and motivate a team of electricians or technicians. Skilled in delegating tasks, setting priorities, and monitoring performance. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills under time pressure. Ability to analyze root causes of repeated faults and implement long-term solutions. Good verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with HODs, vendors, and internal teams. Ability to create clear daily reports and documentation. Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and responding to emergencies without delay. Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and tracking. Experience with maintenance tracking systems (if any) is a plus. Willingness to be on-call during off-hours or holidays for emergency breakdowns. High sense of responsibility and ownership for the department's performance. Thorough understanding of electrical safety procedures and compliance with regulatory norms. Proactive in enforcing safety measures and conducting toolbox talks or briefings when needed.
