Role & responsibilities Job Summary: The Electrical Shift Engineer is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted power supply, electrical system reliability, and safety across residential or commercial property sites. This includes operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all electrical installations within the premises during the assigned shift. Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain electrical systems such as LT/HT panels, transformers, DG sets, UPS systems, AMF panels, and internal lighting. Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance of all electrical assets. Respond to electrical breakdowns and resolve issues promptly to avoid service disruption. Ensure smooth functioning of common area electrical systems (e.g., lifts, pumps, lighting, access control). Monitor power consumption and energy meters; report irregularities to the management. Maintain electrical maintenance logs, shift reports, and breakdown records. Inspect contractor work related to electrical systems for quality and compliance. Coordinate with vendors and AMC providers for servicing of electrical equipment. Conduct routine testing of emergency power systems including generators and fire alarms. Ensure all operations follow safety standards, statutory compliance, and building codes. Support energy-saving and sustainability initiatives within the property. Requirements: Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering Experience: 25 years in facility/property management (residential, commercial, or mixed-use properties) Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electrical systems in high-rise buildings or gated communities Experience with building management systems (BMS) is a plus Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and layouts Soft Skills: Quick response under pressure Good communication and documentation skills Attention to safety and detail-oriented Preferred candidate profile
