Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer – TransformersLocation : Location: Atlas Transformers India Limited(Por) Experience Preferred: 2 to 3 Years In Transformers Industry Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join our transformer design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of distribution and power transformers (up to [insert kVA/MVA rating and voltage level]) in accordance with customer specifications, national/international standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, etc.), and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities: Transformer Design & Engineering : Perform electrical design calculations for core, windings, insulation, and tap changers for distribution and power transformers. Develop electrical design documentation: winding schematics, connection diagrams, loss calculations, short-circuit impedance, no-load/load losses, and temperature rise. Design custom transformer solutions to meet specific client requirements or tender specifications. Standards Compliance : Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, IS, etc.) and safety regulations. Support in the preparation and review of type test documents and coordinate with test labs. Software & Tools : Utilize electrical design software (e.g., ELCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, MathCAD, ANSYS, etc.) for simulations and drafting. Run thermal, magnetic, and electrical simulations where required. Collaboration & Support : Work closely with mechanical design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. Provide technical support during procurement, production, and testing stages. Attend customer meetings to discuss technical requirements and design clarifications. Documentation & Reporting : Prepare Bills of Materials (BoMs), design calculation reports, and technical drawings. Maintain design records and version control for future traceability and improvements. Qualifications and Skills:Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience : 2–10 years of relevant experience in transformer design (distribution and/or power transformers). Hands-on experience with transformer design software and drawing tools. Technical Skills : Strong understanding of electromagnetic design principles. Knowledge of transformer loss optimization, insulation coordination, and thermal management. Familiarity with 3-phase transformer design, vector group selection, and fault level analysis. Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
