Embedded Sales Manager, Lending (Sales Development Focus)This role is a unique hybrid, combining the strategic leadership of a sales manager with the hands-on, pipeline-building focus of a sales development team. The Embedded Sales Manager will be responsible for building and scaling a sales development function within a lending business, specifically focused on integrating lending products into partner platforms (e.g., SaaS, marketplaces, or other B2B ecosystems). This is a critical role for driving new business and will require a deep understanding of embedded finance, lending products, and the sales development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:1. Sales Development Strategy & Execution Develop and implement a comprehensive sales development strategy to generate high-quality leads and build a robust sales pipeline for the lending products. Identify, target, and prospect potential B2B partners for embedded lending solutions. Lead the entire sales development process, from initial research and outreach to qualification and handover to the closing sales team. Define and optimize the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and customer personas for new business acquisition. 2. Team Leadership & Management Recruit, train, and mentor a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) or Business Development Representatives (BDRs). Set clear performance targets (KPIs) for the team, such as qualified leads, meetings booked, and pipeline contribution. Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development to ensure the team's success. Foster a high-performance culture that is results-oriented and collaborative. 3. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with the Product and Product Marketing teams to refine the embedded lending proposition and go-to-market strategy. Collaborate with the Closing/Account Executive team to ensure a seamless handoff of qualified leads and a high conversion rate. Partner with Marketing to align on messaging, campaigns, and content that will support lead generation efforts. Provide market feedback and insights to Product and Engineering to inform product development and innovation. 4. Performance Analysis & Reporting Analyze sales development metrics (e.g., call volumes, email open rates, conversion rates) to identify trends and areas for improvement. Utilize CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage, track, and report on all sales development activities and results. Regularly report on sales development performance to senior management and key stakeholders. Required Skills & Qualifications:Experience: Proven experience in sales development or business development, preferably within the fintech, embedded finance, or lending industry. A strong background in B2B sales is essential. Domain Expertise: A deep understanding of embedded finance, lending products (e.g., SMB loans, working capital, point-of-sale financing), and the underlying technology (APIs, integrations). Leadership: Demonstrated experience in building, leading, and motivating a sales development team. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial solutions to a variety of stakeholders. Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and execute data-driven sales strategies. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), sales engagement tools (e.g., Outreach, SalesLoft), and other sales and marketing automation platforms. Education: A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
