As a Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Battery Design Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to understand the electrical architecture of HEV/EV systems. You will be involved in conceptualizing, laying out, designing, and developing Lithium-Ion Battery packs for HEV/EV applications. It will be your duty to determine specifications, conduct testing, and evaluate components and subsystems. Additionally, you will focus on cost and weight optimization through Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) and benchmarking activities. Collaboration with other design departments, suppliers, and relevant agencies for design and development activities will also be a crucial part of your role. In terms of technical competencies, you should be proficient in working with Digital Mock-Up (DMU), 3D modeling, and 2D drawing. Experience with UNIGRAPHICS is desirable. Your expertise should include Lithium-Ion battery pack design, child part development, and testing. Knowledge of design, safety, and test standards related to Lithium-Ion batteries, as well as familiarity with various cell/module types, chemistry, electrical characteristics, and battery pack architectures, will be essential. You should also have experience in testing at both battery pack and vehicle levels, along with exposure to Hybrid/Electric Powertrain Control Design, development, verification, and validation, including onboard diagnostics. Understanding HEV/EV Regulations such as AIS 038 and other relevant standards is crucial. On the behavioral front, you are expected to be proactive, take initiatives, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. A willingness to continuously learn, unlearn, and relearn is essential. Motivating your team through effective mentorship, embracing change, adapting swiftly to advancements, and envisioning the future based on industry/consumer trends are integral aspects of this role. Flexibility regarding job location based on project requirements is necessary. Educational qualifications include a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. An M.E./M.Tech in Design/Manufacturing Engineering with project work related to Electric Vehicle/Hybrid Electric Vehicle systems is desirable. A minimum of 60% marks is required. The ideal candidate will have 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in the field.,
