ECONOMIC AFFAIRS OFFICER

Job Description: As an Economics Affairs Officer at the United Nations, your role will involve focusing on a sub-specialty within economics such as macroeconomics, development economics, international economics (trade, finance, and investment), public economics, environmental economics, gender economics, or a specific economic sector. You will typically report to the Head of a Branch or Unit, or to a Senior Economics Affairs Officer. Key Responsibilities: - Specializing in a sub-specialty within economics - Reporting to senior officers within the department Qualifications Required: - A degree in economics or a related field - Job-specific qualifications in economics - Previous work experience in economics - Proficiency in languages as required by the position In addition to the above job-specific details, the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and regional commissions are key areas where these positions are located.
