Urgent Requirement in ECOCHEM SALES AND SERVICES for Chemist at Kerala site. Job description: An Assistant Chemist at a sewage treatment plant is responsible for conducting routine chemical analyses of wastewater samples, monitoring treatment processes by analyzing chemical parameters, maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing reagents, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, all under the supervision of a senior chemist, to optimize the efficiency of the sewage treatment plant. Key responsibilities: Sample collection and analysis: Regularly collect wastewater samples from various points within the treatment plant and perform chemical analyses using standard laboratory techniques like tit-ration, spectroscopic, and ion chromatography to measure parameters like pH, alkalinity, ammonia, nitrate, phosphate, dissolved oxygen, and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD). Data recording and interpretation: Accurately record analytical results, interpret data to identify trends and potential issues within the treatment process, and generate reports for the plant operator. Chemical dosage adjustments: Based on analysis results, recommend adjustments to chemical dosages (like coagulants, flocculants, disinfectants) to maintain optimal treatment efficiency. Laboratory maintenance: Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, prepare chemical solutions and standards, and ensure proper storage of chemicals and reagents. Quality control: Follow established quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of analytical results. Compliance monitoring: Monitor treatment process parameters to ensure compliance with local environmental regulations and discharge permits. Troubleshooting support: Assist in identifying and resolving issues related to treatment processes by analyzing data and suggesting corrective actions. Safety protocols: Adhere to all laboratory safety guidelines, including proper handling of hazardous materials and waste disposal procedures.
