About This Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Solution Architect to lead the end-to-end solution design and upgrade strategy for UDM (User Data Management), IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem), and Packet Core network elements. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define upgrade paths, validate design impacts, and ensure seamless execution in live network environments.
What You Will Do
Define upgrade approach (ISSU vs. redeployment) based on product capabilities and customer environment.
Evaluate backward compatibility and interoperability impacts across EPC/5GC/Cloud components.
Align upgrade activities with network architecture roadmap, lifecycle policies, and vendor release cycles.
Develop high- and low-level solution architecture for upgrades, including software/hardware pre-requisites.
Create detailed upgrade impact assessments and rollback strategies.
Validate upgrade path for clustered/HA deployments, geo-redundancy, and distributed architectures..
You Will Bring
Work with delivery, operations, product teams, and customers to gather requirements and constraints.
Participate in technical governance and change control boards for upgrade approvals.
Present solution documents, risk mitigations, and test validation plans to internal and external stakeholders.
Leverage automation for pre-checks, health-checks, and post-upgrade validation (e.g., EVFNM, CaaS scripts).
Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and audit standards during upgrade cycles.
Integrate solutions with CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
Develop and maintain architecture documentation, upgrade playbooks, and decision logs.
Share knowledge across teams via technical sessions, mentoring, and documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
Deep understanding of UDM (HSS, UDR, UDSF, AUSF), IMS (CSCF, TAS, MGCF), and Packet Core (MME, SGW, PGW, AMF, SMF, UPF) in EPC/5GC networks.
Proven experience in at least 2-3 large-scale upgrade projects involving these domains.
Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, OpenStack) and containerization platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, CaaS).
Competence in scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible) for automation.
Experience with integration and deployment tools like Git, Jenkins, Helm is a plus.
Strong grasp of system interdependencies, signaling flows (Diameter, SIP, HTTP2, GTP), and failover mechanisms.
Ability to conduct impact analysis across interfaces (Nxx, Sxx, Gx, Rx, etc.).
