The Merchandise Flow Team Member plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of products within the warehouse. This position involves handling materials, optimising processes, and supporting logistics operations to maintain a smooth workflow. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in warehouse management, with experience in shipping and receiving, as well as mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment handling.

Duties

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Manage the flow of merchandise through the warehouse, ensuring timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistics and optimise inventory management.
• Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems such as AS400.
• Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Assist in shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring that all products are accounted for and properly documented.
• Provide support in team management activities, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience is essential, with a strong understanding of materials handling and logistics operations.
• Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) processes is advantageous.
• Mechanical knowledge is preferred to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
• Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently is required.
• Experience with warehouse management systems, particularly AS400, is beneficial.
