Job Purpose The Design Drafter will be responsible for undertaking the production and management of design & drafting of various drawings including Primary Electrical Layouts, SLD, Protection & Control schematics. The Design Drafter will also perform drawing management, drafting governance, quality checks and reviews, document revision control and transmittals. Qualification and skills Engineering diploma / certificate in relevant discipline from recognised institutions. Proficiency in using Design & Engineering tools and Software. Ability to understand cross-discipline engineering principles. Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and Safety in Design requirements. Experience 5+ Years of Design & Drafting Experience Experience in electrical design and drafting of EHV substations invloing SLD, GA, sections, panel layout and AC & DC schematics Delivered utility scale Renewable Energy or T&D substation projects Software Tools Proficiency Drafting Tools AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley Microstation, 2D Modelling IT Systems and Database Tools Project Management & Documentation Softwares Role Accountabilities 1. Design & Drafting Undertake detailed design and drafting for of high voltage Substation, Renewable Energy Plant, Protection & Control Panels, etc. including Primary Single Line Diagram (SLD), Protection SLD, AC DC Schematics, Panel schematics, Cable Schedules, Interconnections schedules, block diagrams, logic diagrams. Create and maintain technical drawings using drafting applications (tools) in line with the processes and procedures specified by the client. Compliance with Clients design standards, relevant project standards and specifications, compliance with local codes and other requirements. Internal and inter-discipline drafting review and quality checks. Coordination with inter-discipline Design teams for design input, design development and design review work. Drawings and Document control including maintaining the revision control Transmittal register, drawing and document register. Safety in Design Design Risk Management, identify design risks and issues and provide mitigation measures. Innovation - Ensure the application of innovation in the design of customer works projects to produce the optimum installation while still adhering to the required Asset Management standards, reliability, security and quality. 2. Design Management Design drafting Budget - Develop the budget, time and effort estimation, sequencing, scheduling, and monitoring and control of the design budget. Quality Management Design Input and output quality review process, Quality documentation, Quality audit. Design Schedule Management develop, monitor and control design schedule, design input and outputs, design deliverables. Communication Management Comply with the communication plan and requirements specified in the Design Management Plan. 3. Engineering Governance Adherence to the Design Quality Process throughout the design life cycle. Development of quality policy and procedure. Value Engineering and Innovation. Drive improvements to aid cost-effectiveness and enhance the quality of the engineering work for both internal and external clients. Review and management of key engineering drafting documents. 4. The Senior Engineer will also perform design management, engineering governance, quality checks and internal design reviews and provide technical leadership and mentoring to Substation design team. Qualification and skills Bacholer or Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Power System from recognised institutions. Professional membership of National & international Institutes. Sound understanding of relevant National & International Engineering Standards, Codes & Practices. Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and Safety in Design requirements.
