Drone Firmware Engineer & Test Pilot

Join us in our mission to innovate and deliver top-tier drone systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, tuning, and testing of Pixhawk-based drones. Your primary focus will be on customizing and optimizing ArduPilot firmware to enhance drone performance for specific applications. You will also develop, test, and implement new firmware features based on project requirements, troubleshoot and resolve firmware-related issues, and ensure seamless integration of firmware with drone components. As a Test Pilot, you will conduct comprehensive flight tests to evaluate the performance and stability of large drones exceeding 25 kg. You will fine-tune flight parameters and settings based on test flight data, ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and provide detailed reports to guide further development and improvements. Collaboration with the engineering team to implement test findings into firmware updates is key to success in this role. Your qualifications should include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in drone firmware development focusing on Pixhawk and ArduPilot systems. Proficiency in modifying and optimizing ArduPilot firmware, strong programming skills in languages like C++ and Python, and excellent troubleshooting abilities are essential. A certified drone pilot license is highly desirable, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred skills include experience with ROS (Robot Operating System) and knowledge of regulatory requirements for operating large drones.
