The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cinematography techniques, equipment, and industry trends. They should be dedicated to fostering a dynamic learning environment where students can develop their technical skills and creative vision. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Design and update curriculum for cinematography courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and emerging trends. Instruction: Deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on topics such as camera operation, lighting techniques, composition, and visual storytelling. Hands-on Training: Provide hands-on training with industry-standard equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting fixtures, and accessories. Critique and Feedback: Offer constructive feedback and critique on student projects, guiding them towards technical proficiency and artistic excellence. Mentorship: Serve as a mentor to students, providing guidance on career development, portfolio building, and industry networking. Collaboration: Collaborate with other faculty members and industry professionals to organize guest lectures, film screenings, and collaborative projects. Research and Innovation: Stay updated on advancements in cinematography technology and techniques, incorporating them into the curriculum as appropriate. Administrative Tasks: Assist in administrative tasks such as grading, attendance tracking, and student evaluations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cinematography, Film Production, or a related field. Proven experience as a cinematographer in the film or television industry. Strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in various cinematography styles and techniques. Experience teaching or mentoring students in a formal or informal setting is preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to students with varying levels of experience. Doon Film School is seeking a passionate and experienced Film Editing Faculty member to join our esteemed faculty team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the art and technique of film editing, helping them to develop the skills necessary to excel in the film and television industry. This position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of filmmakers through comprehensive instruction and hands-on experience. Key Responsibilities: Teaching: Deliver engaging and informative lectures on film editing principles, techniques, and software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro). Develop and implement a curriculum that covers both the theoretical and practical aspects of film editing. Conduct hands-on workshops and practical sessions to enhance students' editing skills. Evaluate student work, provide constructive feedback, and grade assignments and exams. Mentoring: Guide students through the editing process on their film projects, from initial concept to final cut. Provide one-on-one mentorship and support to help students overcome technical and creative challenges. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with other faculty members to continually improve and update the film editing curriculum. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in editing software and techniques to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and cutting-edge.
