Job Title: Category Manager Consultant Role : Full-time Location: Bangalore (Hybrid Work Environment) Experience: 3-5 Years Industry: Baby Products / Consumer Goods Market Focus: United States Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Category Manager Consultant with strong e-commerce experience to lead and optimize our product categories. The ideal candidate will bring a data-driven approach to category planning, with a proven track record in managing digital channels. This is a role requiring a hands-on, results-oriented professional who can work independently\ and drive category performance. Responsibilities: Category Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement data-driven category strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on growth, profitability, and customer needs. Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct ongoing research to identify market trends, emerging customer preferences, and competitive landscape to drive assortment planning and pricing strategies. Product Portfolio Management: Optimize product mix across categories by analyzing performance, identifying gaps, and coordinating with internal teams for product development or sourcing opportunities. Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Build strong relationships with vendors, negotiate terms, and ensure timely product availability and alignment with category strategy. Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track and analyze key category KPIs (sales, margin, inventory turnover, etc.) and present actionable insights to leadership. Promotions & Campaign Planning: Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to plan promotional activities, seasonal campaigns, and product launches that drive conversion and engagement. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, logistics, marketing, finance, and product development teams to ensure seamless category execution. Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or a related role. Experience in e-commerce or retail is essential. Hard goods experience is preferred. Prior experience with Amazon (Vendor Central) is highly preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on data. Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and analytical/reporting tools. Deep understanding of online merchandising, pricing strategies, and product lifecycle management. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage vendor relationships and collaborate cross-functionally. Why Join Us?
