Role & responsibilities Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pattern Master to join our fashion/garments production team. The Pattern Master will be responsible for creating accurate patterns from designers' sketches or samples, ensuring proper fit, functionality, and manufacturability of garments. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of garment construction, fabric behavior, and pattern-making techniques (manual or CAD-based). Key Responsibilities: Interpret designers sketches, tech packs, or physical samples to develop first patterns. Create accurate paper or digital patterns for all sizes as per design requirements. Perform grading to ensure proper size range fit and consistency. Conduct sample fittings and make necessary adjustments based on feedback. Collaborate closely with the design, sampling, and production teams. Maintain pattern archives and version control. Ensure patterns are production-ready, minimizing fabric wastage and optimizing sewing efficiency. Use CAD software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, Tukatech, Optitex) for digital pattern development (if applicable). Monitor fit, fall, and measurements of sample garments. Support in the development of spec sheets and size charts. Requirements: Proven experience as a Pattern Master in the garment/fashion industry (minimum 3-5 years preferred). Proficient in manual and/or digital pattern making. Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric types, and measurement techniques. Experience with CAD pattern-making software is an advantage. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications: Diploma or certification in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or a related field.
